Dear President Obama

Dear President Obama,

I am planning to move my family to Mexico and I will need your assistance. We're planning to simply walk across the border from the U.S. into Mexico, and we'll need your help to make a few arrangements....

We plan to skip all the legal stuff like visas, passports, immigration quotas and laws. I'm sure they handle those things the same way you do here. So, would you mind telling your buddy, President Calderon, that I'm on my way over? Please let him know that I will be expecting the following:

1. Free medical care for my entire family.
2. English-speaking government bureaucrats for all services I might need, whether I use them or not.
3. Please print all Mexican government forms in English.
4. I want my grandkids to be taught Spanish by English-speaking (bi-lingual) teachers.
5. Tell their schools they need to include classes on American culture and history.
6. I want my grandkids to see the American flag on one of the flag poles at their school.
7. Please plan to feed my grandkids at school for both breakfast and lunch.
8. I will need a local Mexican driver's license so I can get easy access to government services.
9. I do plan to get a car and drive in Mexico but I don't plan to purchase car insurance, and I probably won't make any special effort to learn local traffic laws.
10. In case one of the Mexican police officers does not get the memo from their president to leave me alone, please be sure that every patrol car has at least one English-speaking officer.
11. I plan to fly the U.S. flag from my house top, put U. S. flag decals on my car, and have a gigantic celebration on July 4th. I do not want any complaints or negative comments from the locals.
12. I would also like to have a nice job without paying any taxes, or have any labor or tax laws enforced on any business I may start.
13. Please have the president tell all the Mexican people to be extremely nice and never say critical things about me or my family, or about the strain we might place on their economy.
14. I want to receive free food stamps.
15. Naturally, I'll expect free rent subsidies.
16. I'll need Income tax credits so although I don't pay Mexican Taxes, I'll receive money from the government.
17. Please arrange it so that the Mexican Government pays $4,500 to help me buy a new car.
18. Oh yes, I almost forgot, please enroll me free into the Mexican Social Security program so that I'll get a monthly income in retirement.

I know this is an easy request because you already do all these things for all his people who walk over to the U.S. from Mexico. I am sure that President Calderon won't mind returning the favor if you ask him nicely.

Sad Day!

Today is a very sad day indeed. I was asked to take care of three puppies and four adult dogs (one of which is the mommy of the puppies). I've been taking care of them, but really concerned because the puppies kept disappearing. I found them twice after they disappeared, but last night I could not find the third puppy. I looked everywhere. And, I heard it whining, but could not get to it. So, I called the son of the people I'm dogsitting for, and asked him to see if he could find the puppy. He looked last night, his girlfriend looked last night...he finally found the puppy this morning, and it was dead. Apparently one of the adult dogs had knocked a huge rock over onto the puppy while it was sleeping. The reason the puppy wouldn't come out to me was because it was trapped and could not. This story gets even sadder because I helped the mommy dog have these very puppies! They were very special to me. And now one of them is gone....

Well, here goes...I've created a blog. I've been interested in doing this for quite some time, but...well, you know! :o)

First, let me tell ya'll a little bit about me! I'm a single young lady...well, young is a relative term! :o) I'm the Distance Education Coordinator at a small Bible college in Cincinnati, OH. Most days I like my job. I'm still on the search for my dream job...I just have to figure out what that is first!!!!

I love music, all kinds of music. Music calms me, can uplift me, and even help me to work through my melancholy moods...did I mention that I'm about 30% melancholy, or is that 80%...oh well, either way, life must go on!

I love, love, love to knit. Don't always have the time or energy to do so, but my thoughts are constantly swirling with what I can create next. I'd love to learn to crochet as well. I've pretended for so many years to know how to crochet...it's high time I learn more besides the basic chain and a few other very basic stitches!

My absolute favorite color is PINK! I love, love, love the color pink! My apartment is decorated in the Romantic Victorian style. It's still a work in progress, but it's progressing nicely. Perhaps I shall post pics sometime.

I have a Mom and Dad...doesn't everyone! Ha! I have two younger brothers...one lives in Columbus, OH and the other lives in Arizona. I have one nephew and two step nephews. Both brothers are happily married...at least they'd better be!

Well, that's all I think I shall say for now...stay tuned for more of me and the things that make me, me!
